Turtle Beach’s next pro controller has shown up before its own announcement. The Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra II, which you’ll also see called the Stealth Ultra 2, is up for pre-order on [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HGKT2B1M?ref=averagetechnerds.com) at $199.99, with a November 12 release date. It’s the first new version of the Stealth Ultra since the original launched in December 2023.

Bottom line up front

## So what does this mean for the *Average TechNerd*?

The Stealth Ultra II is Turtle Beach’s second-generation Xbox and PC pro controller, up for pre-order on Amazon at $199.99 for November 12\. It swaps in a touch screen, magnetic TMR sticks and three switchable stick gates, and its rated battery life is longer.

Heads up: Turtle Beach hasn’t officially announced it, so every detail comes from the Amazon listing. There’s one notable loss, too: it drops from 10 onboard profiles to 3\. And the original? It’s $92.99 on Amazon right now, $107 less than the Ultra II.

## What is the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra II?

It’s the second generation of Turtle Beach’s screen-equipped wireless controller for Xbox and PC. Like the original, it carries the Designed for Xbox license, a charge dock, a hard case and four back buttons. The big changes sit under your thumbs: a touch screen, TMR sticks and a new system for switching how the sticks behave.

Here’s the catch. Turtle Beach hasn’t announced it yet, and its own store has no product page or search result for it. The Amazon listing carries Turtle Beach’s branding, model number TBC-2104-05 and full spec sheet, and it’s sold by Amazon itself. Details can still shift before launch.

## When does it come out, and how much is it?

Amazon lists it for November 12, 2026, at $199.99, and you can pre-order it now. That’s the same price the original launched at back in 2023, so at least it didn’t climb. There’s no word on UK, European or Canadian pricing yet.

## What’s new compared with the original Stealth Ultra?

The screen is now a touch screen. Turtle Beach calls it the Connected Command Touch Screen, and it handles button mapping, stick response, dead zones, triggers, lighting and headset audio. The original had a 1.5-inch Connected Command Display, and Turtle Beach never called it a touch screen. In Turtle Beach’s renders, the new one takes up a lot more of the controller’s face.

The sticks move from Hall effect to TMR. Both read the stick’s position with magnets, so nothing rubs and wears down into drift. TMR is the newer design, as covered in the [leak of Microsoft’s Elite Series 3 controller](https://averagetechnerds.com/xbox-elite-series-3-leak/). Turtle Beach adds GateShift on top: a physical slide switch picks one of three stick profiles. Each one gets its own gate shape (circular, octagonal or square), response curve and option to lock out an axis.

The triggers and the PC connection get upgrades too. Trigger stops now have three positions: a short hair trigger, a medium one and full travel. On PC, the controller reports its inputs up to 8,000 times a second wired (8 kHz polling) and 1,000 times a second wireless.

## What did the Stealth Ultra II lose?

Onboard profiles drop from 10 to 3\. That’s a big cut for anyone who keeps a setup per game on the controller itself. The listing also never mentions the phone notifications on the screen, which were one of the original’s headline features.

The app changes, too. The Ultra II uses Swarm 2 on Xbox and Windows, while the original’s Control Center 2 also runs on iOS and Android. And the weight goes up. Turtle Beach calls the new one lightweight, but its listed 322 g is 76 g more than the original’s 246 g.

## How long does the battery last?

Turtle Beach rates it for up to 12 hours out of the box and up to 34 hours with Eco power modes. The original is now rated for 8 to 10 hours, or up to 20 in Eco mode, on its [store page](https://www.turtlebeach.com/products/stealth-ultra-controller?ref=averagetechnerds.com). That rating is fresh: as late as [October 11](https://web.archive.org/web/20261011182044/https://www.turtlebeach.com/products/stealth-ultra-controller), the same page promised 30 hours, the figure from its [2023 launch](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20231215379193/en/?ref=averagetechnerds.com).

So treat Eco numbers as a best case. The listing doesn’t say what the Ultra II’s Eco mode switches off, and on the original it turns off vibration and lighting. For a reality check, [TechRadar](https://www.techradar.com/gaming/turtle-beach-stealth-ultra-review?ref=averagetechnerds.com) got just over 18 hours from the original after tweaking its settings.

## What stays the same?

Most of what made the original a pro controller carries over. Microswitches under the D-pad, face buttons, bumpers and back buttons are rated for 5 million clicks. The 3.5mm jack still brings Turtle Beach’s EQ presets and Superhuman Hearing to a wired headset.

The box is the same, too. You get the wireless transmitter, the charge dock with a USB port for that transmitter, a 3 m USB-C cable, four extra thumbcaps and a hard-shell case that charges the controller inside it.

## Does it work on PS5, Switch or iPhone?

The listing doesn’t include PS5, Switch or iPhone. It covers Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10 and 11 over the included wireless transmitter or a cable. Bluetooth adds Windows, Android 8.0 or later and smart TVs. There’s no iPhone version of the Swarm 2 app either.

## How does it compare with the Xbox Elite Series 2?

They cost the same, so it comes down to features. Microsoft’s [Elite Series 2](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/controllers/elite-wireless-controller-series-2?ref=averagetechnerds.com) is $199.99 and also stores 3 profiles. It wins on battery, with up to 40 hours to the Ultra II’s 12, or 34 in Eco mode. The Stealth Ultra II answers with magnetic TMR sticks, a touch screen, GateShift and three-position triggers. Microsoft’s own magnetic-stick Elite hasn’t been announced, though the [leaked Elite Series 3](https://averagetechnerds.com/xbox-elite-series-3-leak/) points that way.

## Should you just buy the original on sale?

If you don’t need the touch screen or TMR sticks, yes: the original is $92.99 on [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJVQFZ1S?ref=averagetechnerds.com), less than half the price. Beyond those two, you give up GateShift, the third trigger position and some battery life. You keep 10 profiles. You also keep phone notifications, which the Ultra II listing doesn’t mention, and the box is the same either way.

## Who is it for?

It suits Xbox and PC players who want a pro controller with TMR sticks and on-controller settings, and who’d rather tap a screen than dig through menus. Tinkerers who like tuning stick behaviour per game get the most from GateShift. If you juggle lots of game profiles, though, the drop to 3 matters. And if the screen isn’t the draw, the original on sale gets you most of the way for less than half the price. PC-only players have a cheaper Turtle Beach option coming, too: the $99.99 [Stealth Flip](https://averagetechnerds.com/turtle-beach-stealth-flip/) swaps the screen for a trackpad.

Would you pay $107 more for the touch screen?

Based on Amazon’s pre-order listing for the Stealth Ultra II (Turtle Beach brand, sold by Amazon), Turtle Beach’s Stealth Ultra store page and archived copies of it, its December 2023 launch announcement, the original’s Amazon listing, Microsoft’s Elite Series 2 page and TechRadar’s review, as of October 19, 2026\. Turtle Beach has not announced the Stealth Ultra II; details may change.
